This was one of two schools built in the 1830’s. It stood near the dam until about 1855 when it was moved to its present location to make way for the railroad to Pine Meadow. Converted into a residence, it housed Collins Company employees for many years. Unlike the workers’ cottages nearby, it has a gable end Greek revival pediment.
